Giants' Bruce Bochy's career managerial record creates very unique stat

Everyone loves a weird baseball stat.

A's designated hitter Khris Davis has a tendency to hit with a .247 average year after year after year after year, for example.

And then there's two-sport athlete Deion Sanders who had consecutive 28 RBI seasons from 1992-95 (hat tip to Ryan Spaeder for that one), Reds' first baseman Joey Votto popped up to a first baseman for the first time ever this season, and Giants skipper Bruce Bochy just did something to add him into that unique category:

Bochy's 2,000th career win as a MLB manager is on the horizon and that also appears to be the Giants' main mission now that their season is less than ideal heading toward playoffs.

Whether he finishes his final season as a manager over the .500 mark remains to be seen, but many have already tipped their caps to Boch including the Los Angeles Dodgers who recently paid tribute to him with a Vin Scully-narrated two-minute tribute.

Giants notes: Top prospect Eldridge dealing with wrist inflammation

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts -- one of Bochy's former players -- presented the Giants manager with a signed Sandy Kofax jersey.

This fun little stat won't stand following Tuesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but we can smile for now at its weirdness.
