On Tuesday, Yoenis Cespedes agreed to terms on a four-year deal with the Mets.
Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper reacted to the news on Wednesday morning.
"I never thought for one second that this was a guy they were gonna target," Kuiper said on KNBR 680. "I think you do have to kick the tires on guys like that. But I didn't see him in the lineup at all."

Giants GM Bobby Evans has made it clear that signing a closer is a top priority.
"The first thing you do is get what you need the most, and that's a closer," Kuiper said. "And then whatever you have leftover, now you try to mix and match and see if you can get a bat in the outfield.
"I believe that's probably what they're going to do, or at least certainly trying to do."
