Down to two for Manny — A's and Jays

Baltimore is out of the Manny Ramirez sweepstakes, as executive vice president Dan Duquette said Friday he doesn't see a fit for Ramirez with the Orioles.

It was reportedly down to Baltimore, Toronto and Oakland, so that leaves just the A's and Blue Jays as potential destinations for the perennial slugger. And the latest news indicates the A's are still in the market for a middle-of-the-lineup DH.

Ramirez and Magglio Ordonez have both been connected to the A's; there are a number of other free agent options, including Derrek Lee and Vladimir Guerrero.

Whatever team does take the plunge with Ramirez will have to endure his 50-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs last Spring Training.

Ramirez -- owner of 555 home runs and a .312 career average over 19 MLB seasons -- will turn 40 in May.
