SAN FRANCISCO -- The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed outfielder Carl Crawford on the 15-day disabled list because of a lingering lower back injury.
Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Crawford would undergo an MRI in Los Angeles, likely on Monday's off day. Given that the back has been bothering Crawford for weeks and limiting what he can do, "the DL seems like the prudent decision," according to Roberts.
Versatile infielder Micah Johnson was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City and gives the Dodgers a left-handed bat off the bench.
