As broadcasting legend Vin Scully enters his 67th year as the voice of the Dodgers, he intends to finish his career with the team's three-game series to finish the season in San Francisco vs. the Giants.
For Scully, ending his career behind the mic on television as the Dodgers take on the Giants, is more than putting another stamp on this historic rivalry.
"[I was] a kid who was born and raised in the streets of New York, who grew up literally and figuratively in the Polo Grounds and was a rabid Giants fan. I confess that. It's good for the soul," Scully said at Dodgers FanFest, writes Doug Padilla of ESPN.

The Dodgers' final three games of the regular season are scheduled for Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 at AT&T Park. Scully, 88, does not plan to travel outside of California in his final season.
Besides traveling to San Francisco, Scully will also call games in San Diego when the Dodgers play the Padres and in Anaheim as they go against the Angels.
Scully's final season will certainly come with honors and accolades. On Friday, the Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to rename the road which leads up to Dodgers Stdium, as "Vin Scully Avenue" in honor of the iconic broadcaster.

"A path to Dodger Stadium is a pathway to my heart," Scully said.
As a Giants fan growing up, to holding a different key to the two teams' rivalry with his voice for the Dodgers, Scully wants nothing more to go out with both teams. That still depends on his health, but if everything goes as planned, Scully will finish his career -- well regular-season career if the Dodgers don't make the playoffs -- in San Francisco.
"I think I would love to finish in a game between the Dodgers and Giants. God willing it will work out. We'll see, but the best-laid plans of mice and men usually go up in smoke."
