D-backs vs. Giants lineups: Abiatal Avelino makes first start in left

The Giants have used 13 different players in left field this season.

Abiatal Avelino will be the 14th.

With Mike Yastrzemski nursing a bruised wrist and Alex Dickerson on the bench with a lefty on the mound, manager Bruce Bochy has decided to give Avelino his first career start in the outfield against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night.

Avelino's only prior experience in the outfield came during the Dominican Winter League last year.

Tyler Beede will take the mound for the Giants and he will face fellow rookie Alex Young.

The Giants right-hander is coming off back-to-back four-inning starts and will look to bounce back against Arizona.

Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. PT with Pregame Live on NBC Sports Bay Area and streaming on the My Teams app.
