Programming note: A's-Twins coverage gets underway at 5 p.m. tonight on Comcast SportsNet California!
Yoenis Cespedes is back in the A's lineup. He sprained his left thumb on Sunday while stealing second base in the first inning. He remained in the game after the injury occurred and grounded out in the third inning. He was then was removed from the game prior to the fourth inning. The A's believed four days off for the All-Star break would be enough time for Cespedes' thumb to heal. The Cuban-born outfielder had been limited by injuries in the first half. He missed 22 games with a strained left hand, and nine games with a left hamstring strain. If the A's have any chance at competing for a Wild Card spot they will need Cespedes healthy. They are 31-23 with him in the starting lineup and 12-20 when he doesn't play. The rookie outfielder is second among American League rookies with 22 extra base hits, and ranks third in home runs (9), RBI (36) and walks (16).A's (43-43) lineupCoco Crisp, CF
