NASHVILLE -- If anyone understands the dollars and cents of baseball it's super agent Scott Boras. In the open area outside of the MLB press conference room Boras met with the assembled media and offered a pointed take on the A'sterritorial rights issue.
Boras says it is in the best interest of baseball for the Oakland A's to move the franchise into San Jose, which is currently San Francisco Giants territory.
"If they were working towards the whole, they would agree that the Oakland A's belong in San Jose," Boras said. "They would be in an environment where it would optimize the betterment of baseball."

When told of Boras' statement, A's general manager Billy Beane offered a typically clever and well thought out response.
"He's a very intelligent man," Beane said. "Fortunately there's a lot of very intelligent men that are doing their due diligence as it relates to this issue."
The A's and Giants have been butting heads about the territorial rights issue for the last several years. According to the running clock on Newballpark.org, it has been 1,361 days since MLB started reviewing the A's stadium situation.
The seemingly eternal indecision of the Blue Ribbon Committee and commissioner Bud Selig reached a comedic level of frustration recently when the commissioner dropped an expletive after being asked about it.

There is no end in sight to the A's territorial rights issues, but money talks, and Boras' comments could make a lot of sense and cents to the decision makers in Major League Baseball.
"The A's are very well run, top to bottom, and certainly to put that franchise in a competitive environment stadium-wise would allow their growth and create just a greater competitive environment and just a more successful game overall," Boras said.
