Bochy names Bumgarner as Giants' Opening Day starter

SAN FRANCISCO -- Bruce Bochy didn't need to make this announcement but he did anyway: Madison Bumgarner will start on Opening Day.

The assignment, coming April 4 in Milwaukee, will be the third straight for Bumgarner. He will be followed in some order by Johnny Cueto, Jeff Samardzija, Jake Peavy and Matt Cain.

Players lauded the offseason additions while taking the stage at FanFest on Saturday.
