Baggarly gets the Jeopardy! three-peat

CSNBayArea.com Giants Insider Andrew Baggarly returned to Jeopardy on Tuesday night as the two-time defending-champion after running away with the competition on Monday.

Baggarly had an impressive comeback on Tuesday, (although perhaps not as impressive as his last-second, Final Jeopardy shocker in his first appearance of Friday) making a 4,000 comeback in the last few questions to take command.

Below is every question that Baggarly attempted to answer, both the correct responses and the incorrect ones...

At the first commercial break, Andy held a slim lead with 2,600, followed by Zack with 2,000 and Prudence with 1,200.

After round one Zack had taken the lead with 4,600. Andy was in second with 3,200, and Prudence was in last with 2,800.

Prior to this question, Baggarly was still far back in second, with 5,800 to Zack's 10,200.

Baggarly: Who is (James) Monroe.

DAILY DOUBLE: (Baggarly was down 3,600, and wagered 4,000)
Trebek: Mark Twain published this man's memoirs in 1885 and called them "The best of any general's since Caesar."
Baggarly: Who is Grant?

With that correct answer, Baggarly vaulted into the lead heading into Final Jeopardy, with 10,600 to Zack's 10,200. Prudence was out of it with 3,200.

Final Jeopardy: '80s sitcom characters.

Trebek: Creator Gary David Goldberg wrote this Republican character as unsympathetic, but the actor made him lovable.

- Prudence answered incorrectly with "Who is Alex from 'Family Ties?'"
- Zack wagered everything, and answered incorrectly with "Who is Michael J. Fox?"

It all came down to Baggs' answer. If it was correct, he won. If it was incorrect and he wagered anything besides his 10,600 total, Andy would win.

Baggs played it perfectly, wagering 9,801 and correctly answering "Who is Alex Keaton?"

Baggarly won for the third time, finishing with 20,401. Both Zack and Prudence finished with 0.

Baggarly's three-day total is up to 60,402, and he goes for more tomorrow night!
