Rumblings of the designated hitter rule being adopted by the National League have picked up recently, but the Giants' opinion on the matter has not shifted.
Simply put, San Francisco is not a fan of the proposition.

“We are against the DH in the National League,” Giants CEO Larry Baer said on Monday, according to Jon Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. “We believe in the strategy around the traditional game.”

Baer also revealed that MLB owners have not discussed the potential rule change formally, according to the report, though they will meet on Wednesday and Thursday to discuss items on their quarterly agenda.
On Saturday, Cardinals GM John Mozeliak reignited the DH-to-NL debate by saying there is currently "more momentum" for the change.

Giants ace Madison Bumgarner, a two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, has previously spoken out against the idea of taking hitting pitchers out of the Senior Circuit.
“It’s a beautiful game to me the way it is," Bumgarner said. "That’s obviously the way baseball started and I’m a traditional guy. I’m not much for change."
The NL came close to adding the DH in 1980, when the proposed shift was shot down 5-4 in a 12-team vote (three teams abstained from the process). It has not been voted on since.
