The Giants came storming out of the gate on Monday with a 12-3 victory over the Brewers in Milwaukee to start the 2016 season.

Denard Span, Joe Panik and Buster Posey went back-to-back-to-back, hitting three consecutive home runs in the eighth inning for the first time since July 20, 2006, when Barry Bonds, Ray Durham and Pedro Feliz accomplished the feat against the San Diego Padres.

Before Monday, the Giants had never hit three consecutive home runs on Opening Day. The last team to hit three consecutive home runs on Opening Day was the 1997 Padres, who did so against the New York Mets.

The 12 runs scored by the Giants represent the most they've scored on Opening Day since they put up 13 runs on April 5, 1983 against the Padres.
