The A's got a rare two nights off in Chicago as they head into a three-game series against the White Sox after losing two of three to the Cubs.
They'll head to Guaranteed Rate Field rested and with the red-hot Mike Fiers starting on the mound. He's currently riding an unbeaten streak and hopes to extend it to 17. Fiers is also 8-0 with a 2.26 ERA in his last 16 outings, and has never lost to the White Sox.
Not bad.

He will be throwing to Dustin Garneau behind the plate, with Khris Davis back in the lineup at DH batting sixth.
Meanwhile, the Sox will send lefty Ross Detwiler to the mound who has yet to beat the A's in his career but did have a short stint with the team in 2016. Detwiler is currently 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in six outings against Oakland.
He's coming off one of his better starts, allowing just two runs over 5 2/3 frames and striking out six against the Phillies.
