The A's announced a trade Friday morning, sending recently-DFA'd pitcher Trystan Magnuson to the Toronto Blue Jays. The A's announced Thursday that they had designated Magnuson for assignment in a move to clear room on the 40-man roster.
The A's received cash considerations from the Blue Jays for the 26-year-old right-hander, who returns to the club that traded him to Oakland in 2010 for outfielder Rajai Davis. Magnuson made his major league debut with the A's last season, garnering no decisions in nine appearances and a 6.14 ERA. The A's also announced Friday that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Edgar Gonzalez and infielder Wes Timmons on minor league contracts.
