OAKLAND — Mike Henriques was back at the Coliseum on Monday and resuming his role as the A’s strength and conditioning coach.
Henriques was suspended for planting a hidden camera in the A’s weight room to film injured players working out while the team was away on a road trip. Such activity is not allowed by Major League Baseball or the players’ union, and Henriques was suspended pending an investigation by an independent law firm.
A’s players were scheduled to be updated on the findings of the investigation Monday. The club issued this statement:

“The investigation is complete and we’ve handled the personnel issue. The individual involved is back at work as of today.”
Henriques reportedly admitted to setting up the camera as an effort to monitor players who were working out while rehabilitating injuries. Players on the disabled list generally stay back in the Bay Area to continue their rehab when the A’s leave on a road trip.

Kendall Graveman threw seven innings Monday night and held the Orioles to one run on six hits to earn a victory in the A’s 3-2 win. It marked the first win credited to an Oakland starter since Sonny Gray beat Texas on July 26. That was a reversal of fortunes for Graveman, who entered the night 0-2 with a 10.13 ERA in five career appearances (three starts) against Baltimore.

Graveman recorded 18 of his 21 outs either by grounder or strikeout, and the sinkerballer had an expanded repertoire working for him Monday.
“It was probably his best cutter of the year,” A’s manager Bob Melvin said. “Some of those ground balls were on some cutters that were down as well. He was kind of splitting the plate with the sinker and cutter today. When he has both those working, he can use both sides of the plate and it can be effective against any team. This is a team that’s tough to navigate your way around.”
