SIGN UP HERE Fiers threw 131 pitches, allowing just two walks with six strikeouts to record Major League Baseball's first no-hitter of the 2019 season and the 300th in MLB history in a game that was delayed an hour and 38 minutes due to a lighting malfunction in left field.
The no-no nearly ended in the fourth inning when Jesse Winker reached base on a grounder up the middle. Matt Chapman was shifted over and nearly made the play, but the ball bounced off his glove. It was ruled an error.
Fiers also got a pair of great defensive plays behind him in the sixth inning. With one out, Kyle Farmer popped it up into shallow right field, but Jurickson Profar raced back to make a diving catch.
The very next pitch, Joey Votto crushed a fly ball to deep center field, but Ramón Laureano jumped and reached over the fence to steal a home run.

Profar provided all the offense for the A's, ripping an RBI double in the second inning and a solo home run in the seventh. Oakland finished with just five hits of their own.
Fiers' no-hitter comes just over a year after Sean Manaea no-hit the Boston Red Sox on April 21, 2018. It is the 13th no-no in A's history.
The last time the Reds were no-hit came on April 21, 2016 against the Chicago Cubs.
