After being called up Friday, A's top prospect Skye Bolt went 0-for-2 in his major league debut against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.
Saturday was a little different, though.
Pinch-hitting for Liam Hendricks in the seventh inning, Bolt stepped to the plate with the A's leading 4-3. He did his best to help get an insurance run.

After fouling off two pitches to stay alive, Bolt laced a 2-2 curveball toward the right-field seats. The 25-year-old believed the ball was ticketed for the seats and slowed to a jog. The ball, however, didn't reach the seats. Instead, it banged off the wall, causing Bolt to kick it into high gear to get into second with a double.
Bolt found some humor in the moment after the game, despite the A's falling 6-4.
"I guess I have to do my homework more on visiting parks," Bolt said, via The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser.

Bolt now is 1-for-3 since being called up, and he'll likely have more opportunities in the coming days.

But we're sure A's manager Bob Melvin talked to the rookie about the importance of running hard out of the box.
After he congratulated him, that is.
