A's right-hander Frankie Montas suspended 80 games for PED violation

The Athletics received some bad news Friday.

Major League Baseball announced that right-hander Frankie Montas has been suspended 80 games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Montas was in the midst of breakout season for the A's. The 26-year-old was 9-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 15 starts.
