The Oakland A’s announced on Tuesday that right-handed pitcher Dan Otero was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Phillies.
Otero went 2-4 with a 6.75 ERA in 41 games over four stints with the A’s last year after going 10-2 with a 2.01 ERA in 105 games over his first two seasons with Oakland.

He allowed a .333 opponents batting average and a .531 slugging percentage, which was the highest among Major League relievers.
The 30-year-old right-hander also ranked second among ML relievers in opponents batting average and earned runs (35) but was third in fewest walks per nine innings (1.16).
Otero was also 2-0 with a 1.95 ERA in 15 games, including two starts, with Nashville.
