A's prospect Kyler Murray led his No. 8 Oklahoma Sooners to a 51-14 win over the Kansas State Wildcats, and continued to make his case for a Heisman Trophy nod.
Murray completed 19 of 24 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns, adding another 46 yards and a touchdown on five carries. 82 of those yards came on a strike to wide-open wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, putting the game all but out of reach with less than two minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Murray, the No. 9 overall pick in this year's MLB draft, signed with the A's in June. But the 21-year-old is still keeping pace with the NFL's No. 1 pick, former Sooners teammate Baker Mayfield.
As College Football Talk's John Taylor noted, Murray has accounted for just 15 fewer total yards through eight games (2,803) than Mayfield last season (2,818). He's also scored more total touchdowns (34) than Mayfield did at this point last season (28), and Mayfield went on to win the Heisman Trophy.
Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa remains the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman, but Murray remains in the mix. If Murray goes pro next year, the A's Gold Glove nominees probably won't be the only finalists for some major hardware to take part in Spring Training.
