A's notes: Shutout streak ends really quickly, Piscotty ties a career-high

OAKLAND — Shin-Soo Choo didn't waste any time putting an end to the A's 19-inning shutout streak. Choo homered to left on the very first pitch of the game, his fourth leadoff home run of the season. It was the 14th first-pitch home run in MLB this season.

--- Edwin Jackson only lasted 4 1/3 innings, tied for his shortest outing of the season. The seven hits allowed matched a season-high. 

--- Stephen Piscotty tied a career-high with his 35th double of the season, tied for ninth most in MLB.

--- Fernando Rodney and Shawn Kelley have not allowed a run since joining the A's. Rodney has pitched six scoreless innings; Kelley has thrown 5 1/3.

--- The A's bullpen combined for 4 2/3 innings, allowing no runs, two hits, one walk, and striking out eight.

--- Chad Pinder went 2-for-3, snapping an 0-for-12 stretch.

--- The Rangers snapped a six-game losing streak against the A's, their longest since losing seven straight last season.

--- The A's have won 42 of their last 57 games, and have only lost one of their last 19 series (16-1-2).
