OAKLAND — Mike Fiers pitched six strong innings Wednesday night to improve to 4-0 since joining the A's. Fiers has now won each of his last five decisions, marking the longest winning streak of his career. He has not suffered a loss since July 13 at Houston, as a member of the Detroit Tigers.
In six starts with the A's, Fiers has an ERA of 2.94, allowing two runs or fewer in five of the six games. Oakland is a perfect 6-0 in his starts.
--- The A's finished a stretch of 20 games in 20 days with a 12-8 record. Thursday will be Oakland's first day off since August 16.
