OAKLAND — Brett Anderson has been absolutely untouchable in August. The A's left-hander tossed seven shutout innings in Oakland's 6-0 win Tuesday night, allowing just one hit, and striking out six.
Anderson has not allowed a run in 16 consecutive innings. In four starts this month, Anderson has a 0.68 ERA.
Anderson has now pitched seven or more shutout innings in three straight home starts. He has walked one batter or fewer in seven consecutive starts. His six strikeouts Tuesday also matched a season high.

--- A's starting pitchers tossed seven innings, allowing just one hit, in back-to-back games for the first time in Oakland history. They have now done it in three of their last four games. Since July 30, A's starters have an ERA of 1.87.
--- The Rangers entered this series averaging 6.5 runs per game since the All-Star break to lead the majors. Through two games, they haven't scored a run, and have only mustered five hits.
--- Khris Davis drove in three runs to reach 100 RBI for the third straight season. He joins Miguel Tejada, Jason Giambi, Eric Chavez, and Jose Canseco as the only Oakland A's to ever accomplish that feat.
