
OAKLAND -- The Oakland As agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Pat Neshek on a one-year contract, the club announced today. Neshek was one of seven players on the As roster eligible for arbitration. Neshek wasacquired from the Baltimore Orioles organization August 3 for cash considerations after going 3-2 with 11 saves and a 2.66 ERA in 35 appearances at Triple-A Norfolk. He then went 2-1 with a 1.37 ERA and .147 opponents batting average in 24 appearances with the As. The 32-year-old right-hander held right-handed hitters to a .094 batting average and yielded a .067 average with runners in scoring position. Neshek has spent parts of six seasons in the majors with Minnesota (2006-08, 10), San Diego (2011) and Oakland (2012). He is 14-8 with a 3.00 ERA in 181 career relief appearances. The remaining players on the As roster eligible for arbitration are Daric Barton, Jerry Blevins, George Kottaras, Brandon Moss, Adam Rosales and Seth Smith.Courtesy Oakland A's media services
