The A's gave their fans much more than expected in 2012 with a stirring playoff run, and again the team is in the giving spirit.

MLB Players Association representative and As pitcher Jerry Blevins has informed the As front office that he and his teammates have voted to donate one playoff share -- a total of 34,325.16 -- to various local and national charities in a gesture of holiday giving.During the playoff share meetings, we decided as a team that we wanted to give back to the community by donating one full share to various charities that are near and dear to our hearts.
The charitable donation will be split up between the MLB Players Trust, UMPS CARE, Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, Oakland As Community Fund, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area, United Way of the Bay Area, Donnie Moore Ministries and the Strike 3 Foundation.Oakland A's media services contributed to this report
