OAKLAND -– The Oakland A’s agreed to terms with their first round selection in the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, left-handed pitcher A.J. Puk from the University of Florida.
He was the sixth selection overall in the draft.
Puk was 2-3 with a 3.05 ERA and .191 opponents batting average in 17 games, including 16 starts, this year with Florida. He struck out 101 batters in just 73.2 innings, while walking 37. The 6-7, 230 pound left-hander went 16-9 with a 3.39 ERA in 54 career appearances in three seasons with the Gators and fanned 251 batters in 194.0 innings.

The A’s have now signed or agreed to terms with 31 of their 41 selections from the draft, including 18 of the first 20 and 28 of the first 32.
