Klay Thompson must be a happy man right now.

The A's claimed Trayce Thompson -- Klay's brother -- off waivers from the Yankees, the team announced on Thursday morning.

The Dodgers designated Thompson for assignment on March 27.

He was claimed by the Yankees on April 3.

Trayce was selected by the White Sox in the second round of the 2009 draft.

He made his big-league debut with Chicago in 2015.

In 2016 with the Dodgers, he hit .225 with 13 home runs and 32 RBI over 80 games.

To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A’s transferred right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn to the 60-day disabled list.
