A's bullpenning strategy immediately blows up on Aaron Judge home run

The A's were confident "opener" Liam Hendriks would find success early against the Yankees in the American League Wild Card Game.

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge drove Hendriks confidence into the left field bleachers.

After Hendriks walked left fielder Andrew McCutchen to open the bottom of the first inning Wednesday night, Judge crushed a 2-1 fastball to give the host Yankees a quick 2-0 lead.

Hendriks managed to retire the next three batters in order, but the damage already had been done.
