A’s fans should keep an eye out for one commercial in particular Sunday amid the sea of Super Bowl ads.
Oakland ace Sonny Gray is featured briefly in a Comcast Xfinity spot. There’s no word yet on when exactly the commercial will air, so make those trips to the fridge or bathroom quick ones.
In the ad promoting the X1 cable system, the camera pans back to show viewers all the different types of programming they can enjoy. Toward the end, Gray appears on screen, delivering a pitch out of the stretch and then having his catcher come out to congratulate him (no, it’s not Stephen Vogt or Josh Phegley). After the pitch, Gray even adjusts his belt and tugs on his cap as he might do after a strikeout.

Gray’s scene was shot in early January in Vancouver, and you can take it as another sign of his rising national profile as one of the MLB's top pitchers.
