In an effort to keep up with the Giants and the Dodgers, the Diamondbacks revamped their rotation over the offseason.
They swooped in at the 11th hour and signed Zack Greinke for six years and $206.5 million. Then they stunned the baseball world by trading 2015 No. 1 overall pick Dansby Swanson to Atlanta for Shelby Miller.
The D'backs also acquired former All-Star shortstop Jean Segura from Milwaukee and added two-time All-Star reliever Tyler Clippard on a two-year deal.

Tony La Russa, who serves as the team's Chief Baseball Officer, can't wait to see how his team stacks up.
“It’s exactly the same challenge as Chicago, Oakland and St. Louis. I’m all fired up to see if we’re good enough to win enough games to contend, first, good enough to get into October, good enough to get into that final tournament, which is so exciting," La Russa told The Arizona Republic on Monday.
“You can’t fake this s---. I’m fired up,” La Russa continued.

While some players from most clubs are already in Arizona and Florida at their team's facilities, D'backs' pitchers and catchers officially report on Wednesday, Feb 17 and Arizona's first spring training game is on Wednesday, March 2 against the Rockies.
La Russa and the D'backs get their first crack at the Dodgers on April 12 and the Giants on April 18.
